The First Tee of the Coachella Valley
“Volunteer – It’s a life-changing experience!”

 Dear Friends of The First Tee,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with The First Tee of the Coachella Valley, a program of the Desert Recreation District. While volunteering is encouraged for many programs throughout Desert Recreation District, the volunteer opportunities with our chapter of The First Tee include: coaching golf and life skills to our youth, office administration, transportation, instructional materials preparation and many other valuable roles.

The benefits of becoming a volunteer with The First Tee of the Coachella Valley can be life changing! You will receive free golf opportunities at The First Tee of  the Coachella Valley, experience volunteer appreciation events, volunteer golf skills clinics, product discounts and much more. The rewards to be gained from assisting with the growth of our young participants in life skills and golf skills are priceless!

To become a volunteer with The First Tee of the Coachella Valley, we ask that you complete the following steps:

Step One: Complete, sign and return the Volunteer Application (click "Download File" below) - upon receipt of the completed form, a staff member will review volunteer opportunities and volunteer benefits. Drop off the application at The First Tee of the Coachella Valley, 74-945 Sheryl Ave., Palm Desert, CA or fax to us at 760-341-7369.

Step Two: Complete the volunteer training. All volunteers are required to attend the training session. Training sessions are scheduled during selected workdays and on selected Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  A continental breakfast and light lunch is provided to volunteer training participants. The staff member reviewing your application will schedule your training session that best fits your availability.

Step Three: Complete the criminal background check by completing the Live Scan fingerprinting process according to the instructions provided by the staff member reviewing your application.
