Bob Hope Classic

February 20th – 25th, 2010

The rain did not stop the people from coming to watch golf nor did it stop them from playing the Bob Hope putting green located in the Bob Hope Square. Back Nine Greens donated a putting green in the shape of Bob Hope’s face so that we could have an opportunity to raise money for The First Tee of the Coachella Valley. We offered patrons an opportunity to putt on the green, 5 holes par 10 with the low 3 scores winning some fabulous prizes each day. Brandstand, a unique trailer that was also donated to us, had a TV that was running our First Tee Videos along with running the low scores and winners of each day. The trailer had stools for the customers to sit at while waiting along with computers for them to enter their personal information so we could contact them about volunteering for our program. We were able to raise over $1400 in 5 days. Each contestant also received a raffle ticket for the grand prize, a 2 night stay at the LaQuinta Resort, golf, dinner and a spa treatment for two.

We had some great visitors stop by our putting Burt Rutan, better known as “rocket man” designer of Voyager and his caddie, the Bob Hope Classic girls and Bob Hope Classic Celebrity Host, John O’Hurley, award winning actor.
